Spring 2015 New Members

On Sunday, June 14, 2015, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Chi Omega Chapter welcomed seven vibrant, intelligent, and community-oriented women into the sisterhood. Mrs. Juronica Arch, Ms. Alice Kay Goodloe-Cutts, Mrs. Monica Griffin, Ms. Tiffany Hawthorne, Ms. Samone Jones, Ms. April McDaniel, and Ms. Nyah Whitaker were presented to the public during a beautiful luncheon and coat ceremony held at the Huntsville Marriott. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Blannie Batts, a dedicated member of the Sorority for more than 40 years and a member of the sister chapter, Epsilon Gamma Omega.

Juronica Arch
Juronica is a devoted wife and loving mother of 3 young daughters. She is an Aerospace Engineer for the Department of Defense with a Master Degree in Physics from Fisk University. Juronica enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. 
 
 
 
Alice Kay Goodloe-Cutts
Kay loves serving in her church and in her community. She is dedicated, loyal and kindhearted. Kay enjoys decorating, cooking and spending time with her family.
 
 
Monica Griffin
Monica is originally from Birmingham, AL, but has roots in Tuskegee where she attended college and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Monica has also earned a Masters’ degree in Industrial Engineering from Lamar University. After moving to Madison, AL, Monica met her husband, Willie, and they recently had their first child, a daughter named Ava. In her spare time, Monica enjoys painting, as well as, arts and crafts.
 
Tiffany Hawthorne
Tiffany is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo Hawthorne Sr. from Birmingham, AL where she was born and raised.  Tiffany has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University and a Masters’ degree in Business Administration from Alabama A&M University.  Mr. Ron Childress Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama asked for her partnership in marriage Labor Day weekend of 2014, and the happy couple is currently planning their wedding which will take place October 10th of this year.  
 
 
Samone Jones
Samone is the eldest daughter of the late Mr. Willie C. Jones and Mrs. Felicia C. Jones. She graduated from Alabama A&M University, and hopes to enter the Masters’ of Science Program in Supply Chain Management and Logistics at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in the fall.  Samone enjoys writing, reading, shopping, singing, and would love to travel more in the future.  She also enjoys helping out at her family’s business Bunyan’s Barbeque, which was established 43 years ago by her maternal grandparents in Florence, AL.
 
April McDaniel
April, originally from Seattle, Washington, came to Huntsville, AL to attend Alabama A&M University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. April works full time for Marshall Space Flight Center; however, when her work day ends, on many occasions her day is far from over. April is dedicated and determined to give back to her community in as many different aspects as her life can handle.
 
Nyah Whitaker
Nyah is a native New Orleans, LA and proud alumnus of Florida A&M University. Nyah has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, and is blessed with a thriving career in the engineering industry. Nyah keeps busy these days chasing around her one-year old son, spending time with her family and friends, and being actively involved in her community.
